What an epic, fun, exhausting, exciting, energising, and brilliant convention: thank you all for being part of it and for making as special as it was. Its been 10 days since the convention closed, and everyone is almost recovered. We miss you all already.

Chair’s Update

‘We are concern, we are hope despite the times.’ So wrote Michael Stipe in 1986.

Sometimes it seems that we are too afraid to hope. And here we are now, at a point when value and values can seem to have no value. These are difficult times. What we can hope to do here is somehow reconnect, somehow reinforce the values that we as a community have.

We called this convention Iridescence because we wanted to celebrate our diversity and creativity. It’s only become more important to do so.

Iridescence Member Portal and Discord are GO!

Dear Iridescence Member, 

We promised you more information and here it comes. 

With only 14 days until the convention kicks off we are really getting excited to welcome you and so we want to do it early, so we are delighted to tell announce that our members portal and Discord server are now live. 
Our amazing IT and Discord team have been working furiously to create a space that will be informative, creative, and fun, broadening out the community further and bringing together those in-person and online. We are enormously grateful to them.

Iridescence Programme is Live!!

The moment you have been waiting for is here - the programme is live! 

The Programme team have been working incredibly hard to bring you this wonderful celebration of science fiction, fantasy, horror, art, gaming, and fandom. It is utterly brimming with delights to keep you chatting and thinking long after the convention is over.

Eastercon is Nearly Here and So Are the BSFA Awards!

Eastercon is nearly upon us, just 21 days to go and we couldn’t be more excited! We hope you are too!

A highlight every year is, of course, the BSFA Awards, which will take place on Sunday 5th April. This is a key moment in the British SF calendar, and voting is open to all Eastercon members.

Chair's Update

So far so good*. Aka let us try not to speak in cliches

I always struggle with things like this. I look at a blank screen and wonder what a Chair’s Update actually is. Then I reflect on the brilliant work the team are doing. We’re two months out and it’s all starting to come together. Nearly two years of talking, planning and work. Countless conversations around ‘shall we do X’ or ‘let’s approach person Y’ and so on. Hundreds of collective hours doing our best to build the best possible Eastercon we can for all of you.
