Eastercon is the UK’s annual national science fiction convention, running every Easter weekend since 1955. Around 800–1,200 fans of science fiction, fantasy and related genres come together to celebrate with a mix of panels, workshops, talks, quizzes, competitions and more.
It’s very much a convention rather than a conference: a place to join in, not just sit and listen. When you sign up, you’re buying a membership, not just a ticket, because you’re part of the community.
Programme is always varied across genres and mediums. Expect lively panels featuring both fans and professionals, author readings, interviews, and hands-on workshops.
Beyond the programme, there’s plenty of room to relax and meet people with a good mix of social and quieter spaces. You can browse the Art Show (and even buy some of the work), and the Dealers’ Room is always full of books, jewellery, t-shirts and other treasures. There is also a range of other fan organisations that come to showcase what they do and area based in the Fan Tables area.
