Reconnect guests of honour, Lauren Beukes and Jeanette Ng have launched an auction to raise funds for Trans Rights in the UK and South Africa.
They say on the 32 Auctions site:
It’s a small personal response to the devastating and dehumanising UK Supreme Court ruling last week, where we both live, and also the withdrawal of vital international aid in the last few months that is affecting trans organizations in South Africa (where Lauren Beukes hails from).
The money we raise will be going to The Good Law Project’s campaign for trans rights in the UK and the amazing NGO, The Triangle Project that supports gay, trans, non-binary and intersex people in South Africa. Please do also feel free to donate to them direct here and here.
This is going to be a silent auction going live on 09:30am Monday 21st April where you can bid on cool things from signed first editions by some of your favourite authors to original art, bespoke postcards with original short stories or favourite recipes, crocheted critters, handmade fans as well as professional services like a sensitivity read.
Iridescence has donated a membership of the convention to support the auction.
We encourage anyone who can to support the auction on the 32 Auctions site.
