Meg is Glaswegian Geordie con runner who when left unsupervised has a tendency to volunteer. She is currently Co-Programme Division Head for LAcon V and was Vice-Chair and Co-Division Head for Promotions for the Glasgow 2024 Worldcon. Meg also serves on the bid committee for Dublin 2029, is senior staff for Satellite 9, and has worked (or is working) on multiple Eastercons.
In fandom she found her family, and discovered that conrunning involves not just emails, spreadsheets, and timelines—but also filking, punning, and applying glitter to friends and strangers alike.
Outside con work, Meg is employed at the University of Glasgow, interviews people for Waterstones (Glasgow) and Cymera (Edinburgh), writes poetry, and fights a losing battle with invasive tomato plants in her flat. Her PhD thesis, “Gods Wall to Wall: Gods in Fantasy 1989–2020”, explores agency, belief, and transforming grand narratives in genre fantasy. She has “a thing” for gods in fiction.
If you want glitter on your face or conrunning lyrics for a Disney song or show tune, come find her in the bar (or online equivalent).
